Ontario University Student with Lupus Almost Symptom-Free After Eterna Health Treatment

Written by: Maleeha Sheikh, Director of PR and Communications

“It was really concerning to think that my life would always involve struggling to walk without pain, my skin covered in red patches, and my hair falling out. It was all very scary, especially being in my 20s because you think that’s supposed to be the healthiest time of your life,” shares 22-year-old Windsor University student Dayne Martin.

Dayne was diagnosed with lupus two years ago, though his pain and discomfort began months earlier. He consulted six different specialists in an effort to understand what was happening to his body.

“I started having symptoms when I was about 19. From heart problems to joint pain, and when you have lupus, you become allergic to the sun. My symptoms started flaring up in the summer, which was peak soccer season. Not only was I playing, but I was also coaching for work. Every day, the symptoms would hit me, and I would just shut down,” says Dayne.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues in the body. This can lead to inflammation and damage to various organs and systems, including the skin, joints, kidneys, heart, lungs, brain, and blood cells.

At his worst, Dayne was taking 10 different medications, totaling 30 pills a day, in an attempt to manage his symptoms. Many of these medications were steroids prescribed to treat pain, swelling, rashes, and chest discomfort. Eventually, he had to give up playing soccer due to the severity of his symptoms. Desperate for an alternative, his family researched Dr. Adeel Khan and turned to Eterna Health for help.

“When I heard about Dayne’s condition, I really wanted to help him. He’s so young and has such a promising life ahead of him. I felt confident that through regenerative medicine, I could significantly alleviate his symptoms so he could do what he loves,” says regenerative physician and Eterna Health Founder Dr. Khan.

This past August, Dayne underwent treatment with MuseCells™, MuseExosomes™, follistatin gene therapy, and an autoimmune peptide protocol, which included a thymus bioregulator. Muse stem cells—short for multilineage differentiating stress-enduring cells—have gained significant attention for their remarkable regenerative properties, including superior stress resistance, targeted therapeutic effects, and hypoimmunity potential for enhanced clinical outcomes.

“It only took a few days before I started feeling better,” says Dayne, who has since reduced his daily medication from 30 pills to just five.

Dayne reports that his rash has disappeared, his hair is growing back, and, most importantly, he has returned to playing soccer while attending university full-time. After being repeatedly told he would simply have to live with his symptoms, he is thrilled with his progress.

“You think it’s impossible. The world tells you it’s impossible. But you just have to want more than that—and if you do, you go to Dr. Khan,” says Dayne.
