Athletic Father Returns to Basketball Pain-Free After Eterna Physio Treatment

Suhail Khalid, a 37-year-old Ontario resident, has always embraced an active lifestyle, enjoying biking, running marathons, and playing sports. However, his athletic journey took a dramatic turn when a biking accident in a conservation area left him with a broken collarbone, forcing him to get surgery.

A few months later after he resumed biking and gradually returned to the basketball court, Suhail began to notice troubling signs. “It was during a layup months after the accident that I felt a significant weakness in my shoulder—almost like it was giving out,” he recalls, expressing his surprise at this unexpected setback.

Previously distrusting of chiropractors and physiotherapists due to a negative experience with a knee injury years ago, Suhail hesitated to seek help. “I had been advised to try various treatments back then, but they only seemed to make things worse,” he says.

After struggling with persistent pain, he decided to visit Dr. Sunny Gandhi at Eterna Health, a Chiropractor and Neuro Functional Sports Practitioner who came highly recommended through a friend. “I went to him specifically for my shoulder issue, and right from the start, I was impressed. He stayed with me throughout the entire session—unlike previous experiences where I was often left on my own,” Suhail explains.

Dr. Sunny’s approach was a breath of fresh air for Suhail, who had often felt sidelined by conventional treatments. Instead of just using equipment or recommending ice, Dr. Sunny devised a comprehensive treatment plan and ensured Suhail was performing the right exercises at home.

After just four sessions, the transformation was remarkable. “My right shoulder feels incredible,” Suhail shares.

With extensive experience working with both professional and recreational athletes, Dr. Sunny understood the nuances of Suhail’s recovery. “I showed him what a normal shoulder should feel like. He had been told there were movements he should avoid and that living with pain was his new reality. That was simply not the case,” Dr. Sunny states confidently.

“We eliminated all the pain and demonstrated what a new normal could look like,” he adds.

Dr. Sunny also emphasized the importance of strength training, prompting Suhail to adjust his workout regimen, leading to significant improvements in Suhail’s overall fitness.

Impressed by his experience, Suhail has since recommended Dr. Sunny to his family and friends. “We talk about him a lot—everyone in our family has some form of rehab program with him,” Suhail notes enthusiastically.

Thanks to Dr. Sunny’s dedicated care, Suhail is back on the basketball court with no shoulder pain, ready to embrace his active lifestyle once again.
